Love as an act of rebellion?
This is a true love story.
Every day I wake up and read something despicable about the way people are treated in this country, in this world. It angers me. It frustrates me. It depresses me. It infuriates me. I lash out on social media. I abstain from social media, but it lingers. It is persistent.
We as people of color, queer people, gay people, trans people, women, immigrants, poor people, human beings, people are under attack. I want to fight. I want to lash out. But then I realized only Love can conquer hate. And while I was hesitant to share this very personal love story with you, I realize I have to. It is the one thing in my life that brings me joy, even when it isn’t always perfect. Love is love is love is love. Someone awesome said that. I want to share Love with you today in the form of a song, in the form of a music video I was afraid to release. The lyrics, the melody, the beat, everything is true. And on National Coming Out Day, I’m coming out for Love. I hope you feel it too. I know you do.
You, Me, We, US.
We can change the world.
